The process of transferring web hosting from one provider to another can be really frustrating for non-technical customers. Customers usually end up with downtime in case of website transfer. QualiSpace helps customers to seamlessly transfer the websites from the old service provider to its servers so that they can breathe easy. Website transfer usually involves the following

File Transfer
QualiSpace Technical staff help customers transfer their website data from the old server to its server so that the customers don’t have to bother about the website data transfer. In order to transfer the files of the website, we just need the FTP credentials of the website on the old hosting provider’s server. We will connect to the old FTP server and download the data on the server.

Database Transfer
QualiSpace also helps its customers to transfer their databases on its servers. The customers are required to get the latest database backup from the old service provider and provide to QualiSpace. QualiSpace staff will then restore the database on the server from the backup.

DNS Transfer
Once the website is transferred, it is necessary to change the DNS servers or the name servers so that the domain starts resolving from the new server. QualiSpace assists its customers to change the DNS server to ensure the website starts running from its server. QualiSpace may require the domain control panel from the customer to modify the DNS servers. In case the domain is already with QualiSpace, then the customer need not provide the domain control panel. QualiSpace’s technical staff will themselves modify the name servers on behalf of the customers.

In order to avoid any downtime of website while transferring the website to QualiSpace, it is always advisable to do it before expiry of the webspace package at the old service provider’s end. If the webspace at the old service provider expires, they may suspend the website and hence there will be an extended downtime till the entire website is transferred to QualiSpace.

Imp Note: Free Website Transfer option is available only for new Shared Hosting Accounts and not Reseller Hosting Accounts. The Reseller Hosting Account customers will have to manually transfer their websites from old providers.
